A labour union official claimed Wednesday October 11 that the director of Korean-owned company in HCM City had returned to Korea without paying back wages to 157 workers.
In early September, Ho Yin Co halted production, and its director, Kim Chang Ho told all workers to continue to work until October, when he would pay August wages, said the vice chair of Binh Tan district’s labour union, Tran Thi Thieu Lien. Chang Ho had apparently returned to Korea and left his son Kim Doo Chan in charge of the company.
But not long after, Doo Chan also left leaving 236 million dong (US$14,690) in unpaid wages, said the labour union official.
