Xekaman 1 hydropower plant borrows nearly 2tr dong from VDB

As per the signing ceremony of state investment credit contract for Xekaman 1 hydropower plant on July 3, Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) will lend Viet-Laos Power Joint Stock Co (VLPC) 30 percent of the total investment of the project, with a total amount of 2.141 trillion dong.

In the first phase (from September 2011), the disbursement has reached 300 billion dong and now the two partners continue to sign contract to borrow 1.841 trillion dong for the second phase.

Xekaman 1 hydropower project is being built in Laos with a total investment of $441 million under EPC general contractor of Song Da Group.

Till date, the investment value of the project has reached 1.2 trillion dong.

The project has installation capacity of 322  MW, electricity production at 1.219 million kWh/year and commercial electricity at 1.2 million kWh/year. It is expected that 80 percent of electricity output will be exported to Vietnam.
