International school in Bangkok and other region in Thailand has been growing significantly in its popularity. From those traditional foundation schools, to proprietary and with the rise of those school’s overseas franchises, there is always demand for high quality international schools from both the locals and the expatriate community alike here in Thailand. Here we round up some interesting ones which have been consistently high on the list of expats whilst doing school searching. To remain unbiased, here is a list in no particular order:

1. ISB

International School Bangkok (ISB) is one of the top international schools in Thailand. ISB is the first ever international school to open in Thailand. It opened in 1951 at which point it was called the International Children’s Centre. The original mission of the school was to teach the children of the US Embassy staff and also other expats based in Bangkok.

The school follows an international curriculum. It is a private American-style school in Nonthaburi Province. ISB is a non-profit school and has a current student size of around 1,900 students enrolled, aged from 4 years old up to 18 years old. Students benefit from top quality facilities based on the 37 acre campus of the school.

2. Bangkok Prep International school

Bangkok Prep or Bangkok International Preparatory & Secondary School is a top ranking international school in Bangkok, especially when you look for a good school where you can still embrace your urban lifestyle after dropping off your children at school. It is located in two locations: at Thonglor (Primary Campus) and Sukhumvit 77 (Secondary Campus) and it provides a British education from Early Years until Year 13, preparing students for admission to top universities around the world. 5. Early Learning Centre

Unlike the other schools in our list, ELC City School only offers educational programmes covering years 1-6 so if you decide that this is the right school for your children, you will need to look elsewhere once they have completed their elementary education. The ELC City School campus is situated in Sukhumvit Soi 49, close to Phrom Phong and Thong Lor BTS stations, and has been landscaped to provide a natural retreat in the heart of the city, where children can play, explore and relax in between lessons. Because ELC focuses on younger children, they place a greater emphasis on physical and social development than some other schools, helping children to interact with their peers and become more confident as they make their way through the first 6 years of their education.

6. ICS (International Community School)

Previously named international Christian school, ICS is located in Bang Na District, Bangkok. The school was founded in 1981 by expatriate families who wish to educate their children from a biblical and religious perspective of the world.

It follows an American curriculum and is jointly accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and by theAssociation of Christian Schools International (ACSI). At the 2017 count, ICS had over 1,010 students enrolled with over 22 different nationalities.

7. St. Andrews International school

St. Andrews International school Thailand is part of the Nord Anglia’s group which has about 70 schools in 8 countries. 8. Lycee Francais International de Bangkok

The Lycee Francais International de Bangkok is a French international school founded in Thailand in 1957 and located in the Wang Thonglang District of Bangkok. It is an ideal fit for those parents who are seeking a French speaking school for their children. The school has been awarded both Thai and French accreditation, whilst following a curriculum based on the French education system for students from kindergarten up to baccalaureate (ages 3 to 18). In addition, the Lycee Francais International de Bangkok is a member of the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT).

9. RIS Swiss Section

The RIS Swiss Section-Deutschsprachige Schule Bangkok provides excellent language opportunities, with students benefiting from a French and German curriculum, as well as English. One of the first UK branded international schools in Thailand, Harrow is one of the leading international schools in Bangkok following a British curriculum. 11. Shrewsbury International School Bangkok

Shrewsbury International School is a coeducational British international school. Established in 2003, it is affiliated with Shrewsbury School in the UK. The school caters for ages 3 up to 18, from pre-prep school up to senior school. The school curriculum is based around the English National Curriculum. The school has a wide range of facilities including three tennis courts, an aquatics centre and a library containing 40,000 books, CDs and DVDs. The school has 2 campuses and operates a selective admissions procedure. Shrewsbury International School is affiliated with CIE, EdExcel and AQA examination boards for IGCSE, GCSE, AS Levels and A Levels.

12. Concordian International school

Concordian International school is located in Bangpli, Samutprakan. This school focuses on English and Chinese language. It is ideal for those who prefer a school which focuses on Chinese language, whilst still benefiting from an international school element. They even have their own Chinese Department to provide the best courses for the children. Moreover, the school has adopted the IB curriculum and teaches in a Bi-lingual environment.
