Vietnam Airlines Group, which comprises Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), began selling air tickets for domestic flights during the coming Lunar New Year 2020, or Tet, on September 16.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and VASCO will offer two million tickets for all domestic routes in total for the biggest holiday, with flights scheduled between January 9 and February 8, marking a year-on-year increase of more than 250,000 seats, equivalent to 1,100 flights.

Of the total, Vietnam Airlines and VASCO are offering 1.4 million tickets for 7,600 domestic flights on the upcoming holiday, whereas Jetstar Pacific will put some 600,000 tickets on sale to meet the rising demand during the period.

The air routes with high travel demand include flights from Hanoi to HCM City, Vinh, Can Tho and Phu Quoc and flights from HCM City to Danang, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, Pleikeu, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.

Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 and A321 aircraft are currently being used on domestic air routes by Vietnam Airlines Group.

To meet the high travel demand during the Tet holiday, these carriers will continue offering various ticket price options.

Vietnam Airlines Group suggested passengers purchase air tickets on its website, through authorised outlets and at official ticket offices and ask for invoices to avoid buying fake tickets.
