Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam found herself becoming the subject of Anthony Wong’s mockery yet again, after ordering Hong Kong officials not to wear masks to save stock for medical workers.

As reported on Epoch Times, Lam, who held a press conference without wearing a medical-grade face mask, told the media that government officials should not wear masks except in some circumstances in order to save the limited supplies for medical staff on the frontlines of the Coronavirus outbreak.

No matter how noble the suggestion might be, it did not receive a good response from the public, including movie actor Anthony Wong, who took to social media to express his outrage over the ‘forced sacrifice’.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to live, you also have to consider the lives of other Hong Kong officials. Your hands are already stained with blood!” he wrote on Facebook.

The actor added that while he is no fan of many Hong Kong government officials, he also sympathised with them and believe that they should not be forced to sacrifice their own health.

Actress Kristal Tin also reposted articles about Lam’s remark, and commented, “Did anybody take [Carrie Lam] to the doctor?”

In her previous statement, Lam stressed that there are three situations where officials are allowed to wear maskswhen they are feeling unwell, when they work in frontline services, or when they have to attend an event in crowded places.
