On November 8 in Hanoi, BRG Group, in association with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the US Embassy in Vietnam, held an event connecting Vietnamese enterprises and a US business delegation led by US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

At the event, Vietnamese and US enterprises took part in useful exchanges, opening up new opportunities for cooperation between the businesses of the two countries, especially in the fields of energy, healthcare, and smart cities.

US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross highly appreciated the businesses attending the event, which included some of the leading economic groups of the two countries. He added that US-Vietnam business cooperation in the future will make an important contribution to increasing bilateral trade ties with Vietnam and the Indo-Pacific region.

The US Secretary of Commerce also reaffirmed that Vietnam and the US are engaged in close and sustainable economic cooperation, bringing mutual prosperity to both countries.

Highlighting US-Vietnam trade cooperation over the past quarter-century, Secretary Ross said, “As we mark 25 years of trade relations between the United States and Vietnam, I am glad to see business leaders here working towards greater business-to-business ties between our nations. I am joined by a delegation of US companies that are also looking to grow this important relationship.”

Representing Vietnamese enterprises participating in the event, Nguyen Thi Nga, chairwoman of BRG Group, thanked Secretary Ross for choosing Vietnam as their destination during the three-country Indo-Pacific Business Mission trip.

Speaking at the event, Nga said, “The fact that US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross directly met with Vietnamese entrepreneurs has proven his goodwill in enhancing business-to-business ties between Vietnam and the US, thereby strengthening the good relations between the two countries.”

“Hopefully, after this business trip, the US government will have learned more about the market economy and the investment environment in Vietnam, and will help to build up more successful cooperation between the two countries,” she added.

The visit of Secretary of Commerce Ross and senior US government officials and executives from 17 leading American companies is part of a larger trade mission to the Indo-Pacific region with stops in Bangkok, Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia.
