Burma man gets jail for having obscene pictures in handphone

A Myanmar restaurant worker was sentenced to four months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today for keeping obscene pictures in his handphone.

Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham handed down the sentence on FC Dailova, 24, after he pleaded guilty to the charge. He was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest, which was September 23.

Dailova was charged with committing the offence at a condominium unit at Pelangi Damansara here at 12.15 am on September 23 this year.

The charge, under Section 292 (a) of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to three years or fine or both, if found guilty.

In mitigation, Dailova said he is an orphan.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Firdaous Mohamad Idris prosecuted.
