* ANZ has channelled much of its 2013 carbon neutrality budget into an energy-saving project in Vietnam, indicating its corporate sustainability strategy and its effort to support sustainable development in the region. The energy efficiency programme, initiated by EVN and Southern Power Corporation, installed one million energy-efficient lamps without cost for around 570,000 Vietnamese households.

* Nestle Vietnam Ltd last week received a certificate of merit from the Vietnam general Department of taxation for fulfilling its tax obligations in 20 13. Nineteen of l6,000 companies in Dong Nai Province were also rewarded for similar merits.

* Supermarket chain Big C is offering discounts of up to 50 percent on over 1,250 products, including fresh, processed and dried food, household appliances, apparels, cosmetics and electronics, from now until July 13.

* Nhon Trach 2 power plant provided over 2.33 billion kWh of electricity for the national grid in the January-June period, equivalent to 58 percent of the year’s target.

* Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company will put into operation Dong Ha-Quang Tri toll station in the central coast province of Quang Tri from this Friday. The station is on National Highway lA’s section in Trieu Quang Commune, Trieu Phong District.

* Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Bank and Manchester City Club have struck a comprehensive cooperation deal in Hanoi in which they will launch co-branded card products for football fans. The cards will be available at over 400 branches and transaction offices of the lender in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

* Bien Hoa Sugar Company (BHS) has received approval from its shareholders to issue 60.3 million shares to acquire Ninh Hoa Sugar Company (NHS). The shares will be swapped at a 1-for-1 ratio, meaning each existing THS share will be converted into one BHS share. After the issuance, Bien Hoa Company will hold a 100 percent stake in Ninh Hoa Company.

* Becamex Infrastructure Development Company (UC) has announced July 11 as the ex-dividend date to pay 2013 dividend in cash for shareholders at 6 percent.

* Imexpharm Corporation (IMP) has plans to sell 210,000 treasury shares at no lower than 55,000 dong each to recover capital. Transactions will be made from July 10 to August 8.

* Tran Viet Anh, a board member of Dat Xanh Real Estate Service & Construction Corporation (DXG), has registered to sell one million DXG shares to reduce his ownership from 3.7 percent to 2.4 percent while individual investor Le Thi Tu has also offloaded 350,000 DXG shares to reduce her holding from 5.3 percent to 4.9 percent.

* Ba Ria Thermal Power Company (BTP) has announced July 11 as the ex-dividend date for shareholders to receive a 2013 dividend in cash at 8 percent.

* HDBank has got approval from the central bank to establish two representative offices including one in Myanmar. The bank has also been allowed to set up five branches in the country

* Thai Nha Ngon, vice chair and general director of Phong Phu Pharmaceutical Company (PPP), has bought over 1.3 million PPP shares to secure a 57.1 percent stake.

* The Hanoi Stock Exchange has allowed Due Giang Chemical & Detergent Company (DGC) to list nearly 33.5 million shares.

* Yang Xiao Dong, a board member of Vietnam Investment Securities Company (IVS), has bought 305,000 IVS shares to own 3.14 percent of the firm.

* Danang Pharmaceutical Medical Equipment JSC. (DDN) announced July 8 as ex-date and July 10 as record date for paying dividend in share and issuing bonus shares to existing shareholders.

* Hoang Trong Nguyen, vice chair of Ha Tay Pharmaceutical JSC. (DHT) registered to sell 113,537 shares out of her holding of 869,537 units from July 9 to July 30.

* VietA Bank-Asset and Debt Management Ltd, Co., whose deputy director is Le Tan Muoi Anh, BOD member of Dzi An Manufacturing Plc (DZM) registered to sell 100,000 shares out of its holding of 390,000 units from July 8 to August 7.

* Vu Thi Lan Huong, BOD member of Northern Textiles and Garments Joint Stock Company (TET) failed to buy 50,000 shares from June 2 to July 1, still holding 199,658 units as before.

* Nguyen Van Thoi, BOD member of TNG Investment and Trading JSC. (TNG) failed to buy 150,000 shares from May 30 to June 30, still holding 135,300 units as before.

* Ma Thi Nghiem, head BOD of Post and Telecommunication Equipment JSC. (POT) registered to sell her all 19,594 shares from July 7 to August 6.

* Nguyen Thi Men, BOD member of Tien Trung Technology and Construction Investment JSC (TTZ) sold 75,000 shares from June 25 to July 2, cutting her holding to 200,000 units after the deal.

* Kinh Do Corporation (KDC) announced July 17 as ex-date and July 21 as record date for 2013 second cash dividend payment.

* Khanh Hoa Power JSC. (KHP) announced July 16 as ex-date and July 18 as record date for 2013 second cash dividend payment.

* America LLC becomes a major shareholder of Viglacera Tu Son Ceramic JSC. (VTS) bought 6,700 shares through June 30, raising its holding to 105,100 units or 5.26 percent stake after the deal.
