* The air transport revenue of low-cost carrier VietJet Aviation JSC (VJC) in the first quarter of 2019 rose by almost 28% year-on-year thanks to its rapid international flight network expansion. Its air transport pre-tax profit hit VND923 billion, up over 25%, while its consolidated pretax profit reached VND1,648 billion, up 11.3% against the figure seen in 2018. Vietjet did not have any sale and leaseback transactions in the quarter, compared to four transactions in the year-ago period. It launched four international routes and two domestic ones in the given quarter, raising the total number of air services to 111.Its international revenue accounted for 55% of the total air transport revenue.

* Hoa Phat Group’s (HPG) sales of construction steel in April reached 236,000 tons, a 33% year-on-year increase. The impressive growth was at tributed to strongly rising civil construction activities in early 2019. Also, HPG exported over 17,000 tons of construction steel last month, which is fourfold higher than the year-ago figure.

* Petrolimex Joint Stock Tanker Company (PJT) has announced May 20 as the ex-divident date to pay a 2018 cash dividend for shareholders at 15%. It will make the payment from May 31.

* The Southern Fertilizer JSC (SFG) has announced its business plan for 2019 with target revenue exceeding VND2.3 trillion. It expects to earn VND80 billion in profit.

* FPT Securities JSC (FTS) has announced May 7 as the date to pay a cash dividend of 5% for shareholders, and the payment will be made from June 10. Meanwhile, it will pay dividend by shares at 10%, which means it will issue over 10.9 million new shares.

* LDG Investment JSC (LDG) has sought shareholder approval to issue two million shares under an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) in the second or third quarter of the year. The ESOP shares will be restricted from transfer in the first three ears since the issuance date.

* Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group had acquired nearly 450,000 shares of Vinacomin- Ha Tu Coal JSC (THT) to raise its holding to some 16 million shares, or a 65% stake, of the firm.
