* Hoa Phat Group’s (HPG) sales of construction steel in the first month of this year hit 250,000 tons, a 27% year-on-year rise and equal to record sales in October 2018. HPG said steel sales in the central and southern regions accounted for 48,800 tons, with the rest in the northern region. The group is aiming for consumption of 3.3 million tons of construction steel in 2019 as the second steel rolling line of its Hoa Phat Dung Quat iron and steel production complex is expected to become operational by the end of this year, said

* Property group FLC (FLC) started work on a 1,000-bed international hospital project in Thai Binh Province last week, marking its expansion into the healthcare sector. The project will cover 12 hectares with the total investment of over VND3.7 trillion. According to FLC Chairman Trinh Van Quyet,the group will strengthen investment in Thai Binh Province in the coming time, primarily in the fields. of infrastructure, service and hi-tech agriculture.

* Nguyen Van Thien, chairman of Binh Duong Water and Environment Company (BWE), has registered to buy one million BWE shares from February 21 to March 21 to raise his ownership to 2.2%, or nearly 3.4 million hares. Earlier, Thien purchased 500,000 BWE shares from February 14 to February 17 to secure a 1.6% stake in the enterprise.

* Gia Lai Electricity Company (GEC) plans to put two solar power plants into operation in Long An and Binh Thuan provinces before June 30. The two plants will have a combined capacity of 98 MWp.

* Amersham Industries Ltd, a major shareholder of Dien Quang Company (DQC), has sold over 295,000 DQC shares to cut its holding to nearly 3.1 million shares, or 9.91 %.

* SCIC Investment Company has offloaded 442,000. shares of FPT Corporation (FPT) to cut its stake in the technology group to over one million shares, or 0.17%.

* Hai Phong Electricity Water Machine Assembly Company (DNC) has announced March 5 as the ex-dividend date for shareholders to receive a 20.18 second round dividend in cash at 10%. It will make the payment from March 18.
