Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has downplayed Invoke Malaysia’s polls that Pakatan Harapan will win five states in the 14th general election. Stressing that he does not believe in such polls, Hishammuddin said there would be many polls and statements made ahead of the general election. “It is easy to say (such a thing) before the election but it never happens. Many things which (the opposition) had predicted in the 13th general election did not come true. When that happened, they changed the goal post. This happens in the international platform too.

“So my advice to our party (Barisan Nasional and Umno) is not to worry too much about the poll. All we have to do is defend our states, and make sure we deliver,” he told newsmen. Hishammuddin said those who made the poll right now were bound to change their goalpost when their prediction does not come true. “If we were to believe in their previous polls, I would not be the defence minister and I would not be in Penang with you today,” he added. Hishammuddin was here for a gathering with Penang Barisan Nasional leaders and members. Also present were state BN chief Teng Chang Yeow, state Umno chief Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman, state MCA chief Datuk Tan Teik Cheng and leaders of other component parties.
