Fire damages 111 homes in Jambi Province

A fire burnt down 111 homes in the Central Mendahara floating village, East Tanjujabung District, Jambi Province, on early Tuesday

The 111 houses were located in four neighbourhood associations (RT): RT 10 and 11 in the Arifin Hamlet, RT 07 in the Makmur Hamlet, and RT 12 in the Teladan Hamlet.

The fire broke out at 4:30 a.m. local time and could be doused only at 10:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

“The firefighters are in the process of extinguishing the blaze,” Chief of the Emergency and Logistics Section of the East Tanjungjabung District Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Indra S. remarked.

No injuries and fatalities were reported in the fire.

The cause of the fire was still unknown.
