Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has revealed the province’s newest integrated tourism destination, which is touted as the largest in Southeast Asia.

The governor revealed the location on his official Twitter account @ganjarpranowo, posting a promotional video of the destination, dubbed Jateng Valley. The 400-hectare tourist area will be built in Wanawisata Penggaron in East Ungaran, Semarang regency.

The video also highlighted several attractions that will be built in Jateng Valley, including a botanical park, lake, hotel and resort area as well as a theme park.

“Pray that everything goes well so that you can visit this place soon. We are waiting for your visit,” Ganjar wrote in his tweet.

The governor launched the construction of the tourist destination on August 15, after the plan was put on hold in 2010. The project will cost more than Rp 2 trillion (US$134 million).

Ganjar asked for Jateng Valley to be developed with a futuristic concept that is in harmony with nature.
