The HCM City Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects this morning, September 19, inaugurated the entire An Suong intersection project, seen as an important intersection at the northwestern gateway of HCM City, connecting with Tay Ninh Province via National Highway 22 and the Mekong Delta region via National Highway 1.

Vietnam Plus news site quoted Luong Minh Phuc, the board’s director, as saying that the An Suong intersection has three levels comprising two tunnels linking Truong Chinh Street and National Highway 22, the ground level with a roundabout and the overpass of National Highway 1.

The project will help reduce traffic jams and accidents in the Northwestern gateway area.

Previously, the An Suong intersection was built in two phases. The first phase is the overpass invested in by the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport). It has a total length of 245 meters and a width of 18.6 meters.

Work on the second phase started in January 2017 with a total investment capital of VND514 billion.

Vo Van Hoan, vice Chair of the HCM City People’s Committee, said when the entire An Suong intersection is put into operation, it will help boost economic development and the transportation of goods in the area.

Hoan suggested opening some skyways in the intersection area for pedestrians.
