Nguyen Thanh Phong, chair of HCM City’s People’s Committee, has signed a decision to form a working group to support businesses facing problems amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The group, which will be led by Tran Vinh Tuyen, deputy chair of the People’s Committee, will consist of leaders of departments and districts in the city.

The group will work with the city to offer solutions to maintain business activities and ensure that workers are supported.

Le Thanh Liem, deputy standing chair of the city, said last week that the city would continue to work with investors to help resolve their problems so they can carry on with their projects.

The city will also try to help stimulate demand for hard-hit tourism businesses after the pandemic ends.
