HDBank has won UK-based financial magazine Euromoney’s prestigious award for the “best managed company” in Vietnam following a vote by 500 analysts at leading banks around the world.

A ceremony was held in HCM City yesterday to give away the award to the first bank in Vietnam to win this prestigious honour.

The annual survey was done between February 26 and July 3 this year, and the bank said it won “thanks to its coherent, effective and transparent strategies and focused management.”

Nguyen Huu Dang, HDBank’s general director, said: “We are honoured to be awarded this prize, and share the happiness with all our customers, partners, and staff.

“Our efforts over the years have been recognised by a prestigious global organisation. With this honour,

“HDBank will continue its journey to becoming Vietnam’s leading bank, and thrive at the international level with clear and transparent strategies for the benefit and development of the entire community.”

“HDBank and its subsidiary companies recorded a combined pre-tax profit of VND700 billion; a year-on year increase of 15.4 per cent in terms of total asset value to VND99.525 trillion; and a 16 per cent growth in capital mobilisation,” Marcus Langston, editor-in-chief of Euromoney Asia magazine told the award ceremony.

“I am delighted to announce that for all of these reasons, the Overall Best Managed Company in Vietnam is HD Bank.”
