Hong Kong’s centre for Health Protection (CHP) on Friday reported two new imported cases of COVID-19, taking the total tally in Hong Kong to 11,973.

According to the CHP, a total of 23 cases have been reported in the past 14 days, including 22 imported cases and one import-related case.

The CHP said epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases are ongoing, and contacts to relevant cases are subjected to compulsory testing within specified periods.

So far, more than 5.07 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Hong Kong since the vaccination drive was launched in February 26. Some 2.95 million people, or about 43.4 percent of the eligible population, have taken at least one shot of the vaccine, and more than 2.12 million people have been fully vaccinated.
