Tourists to HCM City during the Tet holiday will have a chance to use a new open-top double-decker bus tour service, due to be rolled out on January 15, giving them a better view of the city’s sights.

Anh Viet Hop On-Hop Off Vietnam Co., Ltd, which will offer the service, said that the open-top buses are set to depart from Cong Xa Paris Street, taking 24 routes citywide.

The bus tours will bring visitors to various tourist spots in the city, including the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the Vietnam History Museum, the War Remnants Museum, the Bui Vien pedestrian-only street, the Ben Thanh Market, the Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Quarter and the Reunification Palace.

The bus tours will cover some 12.7 kilometers, and tourists can start their trip at any stop. The price of the open-top bus tour is VND475,000. Passengers will be offered a discounted price of VND330,000 per tour during the initial phase of operations.

The open-top bus service, with 22 rides per day, will run from 9 a.m. to 9:21 p.m., said Anh Viet Company, adding that the service will operate year round.

These double-decker buses also have an audio-guide system in English, French, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, South Korean and Spanish to serve foreign tourists.

Passengers can now buy tickets on the website www.hopon-hopoff.vn or at all travel firms, hotels and tourist spots in the city.

Anh Viet Company has already launched the open-top bus service in Hanoi City. The firm plans to eventually expand the service to other provinces and cities in the country.
