HPA holds tax training conference on Circular No.80/2021/TT-BTC

The Hanoi centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) held a training seminar on Circular No.80/2021/TT-BTC guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Tax Administration and Decree No.126/2020/ND-CP.

The training conference took place at La Thanh Hotel, Hanoi in a bid to provide fresh updates on Circular No.80/2021/TT-BTC for businesses and relevant agencies on November 26.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga, chairwoman of the Members’ Council of FAC Financial & Accounting Consultant Co., Ltd, stated at the conference that Circular 80 shall take effect from January 1, 2022, with the tax declaration form prescribed in it applicable to tax periods starting from the same date.

Taxpayers, tax authorities, governmental agencies, other organisations, and other individuals all fall within the scope of Circular 80.

The notable points of Circular 80 include new guidance on the allocation of tax payable for taxpayers who have dependent units and business locations at different provinces; tax refund; tax exemption and reduction under the Double Tax Agreement and other international treaties; tax administration for e-commerce, digital-based business activities, and other services where overseas suppliers do not have permanent establishments in Vietnam.

The seminar also highlighted late payment of interest and fines, dossiers for instalment payment of tax arrears, tax refund procedures, creation, collection, processing, and management of taxpayer information, order, and procedures for tax inspection dossiers.

At the event, Nga explained how Vietnamese enterprises could enhance their capacity in accordance with the new tax administration for e-commerce, digital-based company, and other services provided by international suppliers who do not have a permanent presence in Vietnam.

The conference drew 100 attendees, including representatives from various state departments in Hanoi, high-profile speakers, investors, and businesses operating in the region.
