July 26: VN Index gains 0.28pct

The VN Index ended July 26 on HSX at 930.16 points, up 2.58 points (0.28 per cent), while the VN30-Index closed at 921.33 points, up 5.65 points (0.62 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index closed at 104.58 points, up 1.00 points (0.96 per cent), the HNX30-Index 187.83 points, up 1.1 points (0.59 per cent), and the UPCoM-Index 49.83 points, down 0.10 points (0.20 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND3.1 trillion ($133.9 million) and VND548.8 billion ($23.7 million) on HNX.

Food and beverage stocks to gain ground included VCF and VNM, by 5.1 and 0.9 per cent, respectively, as KDC lost 2.4 per cent, BBC 1.4 per cent, TAC 0.2 per cent and TLG 0.1 per cent.

Gainers in banking included SSI, VCB, MBB, BID, CTG, EIB, STB and TPB, by 4.5, 2.5, 2.3, 2.1, 0.9, 0.4, 0.4 and 0.4 per cent, respectively, as TCB lost 3.6 per cent, BVH 1.3 per cent, VCI 1.1 per cent, and VPB 0.4 per cent. MSN closed at its opening price.

In energy, PPC gained 1.9 per cent, PGD 1.8 per cent, and NT2 0.8 per cent, as PVD lost 3.7 per cent, PLX 1.6 per cent, and GAS 0.7 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were VNM, VCB, VJC, DXG and VRE.

HPG was the largest net sold share on HSX, followed by DPM, VIC, GTN and VHM.

VGC was the largest net sold share on HNX, followed by TV3, HUT, HMH and MAS.

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 27,416 shares worth VND10.99 billion ($475,445).

They net bought on HSX by VND35.66 billion ($1.5 million) and on HNX by VND4.20 billion ($181,700).
