A low pressure area (LPA) spotted about 460 km East of Virac, Catanduanes is expected to bring rains over Luzon and Visayas, according to the state weather service PAGASA on Thursday (August 1).

Based on the 3:00 A.M. forecast, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan due to the southwest monsoon or habagat.

Meanwhile, the trough of the LPA will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Regions.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, however, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localised thunderstorms especially in the afternoon.
