Malaysia reports 3,788 new COVID-19 cases, 14 more deaths

Malaysia reported 3,788 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the national total to 408,713, the health ministry said on Friday.

Health Ministry director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that two of the new cases are imported and 3,786 are local transmissions.

Another 14 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 1,506.

Some 2,640 patients were released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 377,980 or 92.5 percent of all cases.

Of the remaining 29,227 active cases, 328 are being held in intensive care and 161 of those are in need of assisted breathing.
