Malaysians advised to exercise vigilance after volcano eruption in the Philippines

Wisma Putra has advised Malaysians to exercise vigilance after volcano Taal erupted in the Philippines.

Wisma Putra said that it is monitoring the development of the incident.

“There have so far been no reports of any Malaysians affected by the volcanic eruption.

“The ministry wishes to advise all Malaysians in the affected areas to exercise vigilance and take necessary precaution, and follow instructions from the authorities,” it said in a Facebook post on Sunday (January 12).

The Foreign Ministry noted that Malaysians currently in the Philippines requiring consular assistance may contact the Malaysian Embassy, located at Tordesillas Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City at +63 2 8662 8200 or +63 917 864 0761 (after working hours) or email [email protected]

Residents in the affected areas were evacuated, and all incoming and outgoing flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila had been suspended until further notice.
