Vietnam International Footwear Machinery and Material Industry Exhibition (VFM), which is scheduled to take place on November 20-23 in HCM City, will showcase a range of products from international brands in the footwear and leather industry.

Many global brands such as Mingling, Luluxin, Jin Yue Lai, Changmeng and Teng Yu Long, will introduce equipment and technologies in the footwear machinery industry at the show, which is being co-organised by Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam and Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company.

This expo has been praised by local and regional footwear manufacturers. Last year’s edition saw great success, with the participation of over 12,000 trade visitors from 11 countries and territories.

The organiser expected VFM 2019 to continue last year’s success story, attracting a large number of participants from the Southeast Asian region.

Besides standard exhibition activities, the four-day trade show will feature a seminar titled “Trump’s Trade War: What’s Next for Shoes and Apparel,” presented by Peter T. Mangione, global footwear consultant of Global Footwear Partnerships LLC.

Also, Bruno Forcione, head of Footwear Innovation, Footwear Strategic Sourcing of New Balance International Limited, will give a presentation at a seminar, called “Branded Athletic Footwear Innovation Model, Infrastructure and Approach.”

Statistics from the general Department of Vietnam Customs show that Vietnam earned $13.25 billion from footwear exports during the January-September period, rising 12.9 percent over the year-ago figure.

Further, the signing of many free trade agreements between Vietnam and other countries and organisations is expected to brighten the prospects of the local footwear industry, according to experts in the field.
