MOH records four new Covid-19 clusters today, including Monsoon in Selangor’s Petaling

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced four new clusters today, bringing the total number in Malaysia to 373 to date, with 184 active.

In a statement, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new clusters were the Monsoon cluster in the Petaling district of Selangor, and the Jalan Kilang, Perdana Enam, and Jalan Kubota clusters in Sabah.

Meanwhile, three clusters have stopped recording new cases today, namely the Bukit, Tujuh Serangkah and Laut clusters.

Referring to the Monsoon cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said the first infected person was detected on November 29 during a screening and was showing symptoms of Covid-19.

“As of December 3, a total of 106 individuals have been screened, with 19 cases detected to be Covid-19 positive in this cluster,” he said.

The Jalan Kilang cluster was detected after a screening at a factory in Lahad Datu, Sabah on November 15. To date, 104 people have been screened, with 24 testing positive.

The Perdana Enam cluster was detected after a person with symptoms of Covid-19 was tested on November 23. A total of 213 people have been tested, with 25 yielding positive results.

The Jalan Kubota cluster was detected on November 25 after a screening of a person with symptoms. As of today, 72 people were screened, with 14 testing positive.

Dr Noor Hisham said of the active clusters, 43 had new cases today.

The cluster with the highest number of recorded cases today is the Usaha Cluster with 84 cases, located in Klang, Selangor.

This was followed by the Kaya cluster (74 cases) in Seremban, Negri Sembilan; and the Hentian cluster (60 cases) in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
