After a fruitful meeting with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud, Datuk Seri Najib Razak continued his five-day working trip to the kingdom by flying to Medina.

The prime minister and his entourage were greeted upon arrival at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport by Medina governor Prince Faisal Salman.

The prime minister’s Office posted a picture of Najib and Prince Faisal on the tarmac of the airport on its official Twitter account.

Earlier, Najib had tweeted that he had an excellent meeting with King Salman.

“Had a very excellent meeting with His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Thank you for the gracious hospitality and strong friendship between two brotherly nations.”

Najib is in Saudi Arabia on the invitation of King Salman.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued prior to the prime minister’s trip, said Najib would also meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Salman.

Discussions with the Saudi ruler and other dignitaries would cover follow-up action on issues discussed and agreed upon during King Salman’s historic visit to Malaysia in March last year.

They include economic cooperation, investment, haj issues and the establishment of the King Salman Centre for International Peace in Putrajaya.
