Strategic branding, design, and PR consultancy PurpleAsia shapes new strategy for UK-based charity in Vietnam.

PurpleAsia, a strategic branding, design, and PR consultancy based in Vietnam, has announced a new brand strategy and website for Newborns Vietnam, a healthcare charity dedicated to improving the outcomes for newborn babies in Vietnam’s central and northern regions.

“As a commercial branding, PR, and creative agency, the number of exciting and challenging projects that cross our desks in a year is innumerable,” said Matt Millard, Managing director of PurpleAsia.

“However, it’s our work with Vietnam’s most committed and forward-thinking charities, such as Newborns Vietnam, that really brings our team together to deliver something that makes us all feel like we’re giving back to the community. We are honored to have had the opportunity to work with such a dedicated team on this life-affirming brand and look forward to an exciting year ahead for Newborns Vietnam.”

In addition to improving the brand’s website, PurpleAsia built a stronger, more recognisable brand image and personality, intending it to resonate with donors and supporters around the world, increasing donations both domestically and abroad.

Newborns Vietnam, a UK-registered charity, has worked in partnership with the Ministry of Health as well as local and national hospitals to carry out British specialist training programmes for nurses and doctors to reduce preventable newborn deaths in Vietnam.

Newborns Vietnam has educated, trained, and supported doctors and nurses in the central and northern regions for more than eight years, working with UK nursing and medical bodies to bring best-practice care, education, and systems to hospitals, clinics and support networks from the farthest rural areas to the busiest city maternity hospitals.

More than 75 per cent of the charity’s funding comes from running, cycling, and triathlon events, where thousands of men and women from all walks of life from around the world are inspired to take on sporting challenges to raise funds in support of Newborns Vietnam. The money donated goes toward the INGO’s work to help end preventable newborn deaths and give more parents the gift of life.

“All of us at Newborns Vietnam are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done in partnership with the ministry to improve the survival of babies born too soon, too sick, and too small,” said Suzanna Lubran, Executive director of Newborns Vietnam. “One kilometer, one turn of the pedal at a time, Newborns is making a difference in the life chances of thousands of precious Vietnamese babies.”

“Our work is guided by our commitment to getting the basics of newborn care right for every single baby, from premature births through the first year of life. The new website captures the hopes and fears of all parents whose babies need special care as well as our vision of a Vietnam where there are no preventable deaths of newborn infants, where every birth is celebrated, and babies survive and realise their full potential. The website is our point of entry to the world, helping us gain the support we need to raise awareness about this phenomenon and allowing us to expand our reach throughout the country and eventually the region.”
