ODA disbursement reaches nearly 80pct after ten months

As reported by the Ministry of Finance, in the past 10 months, the disbursement of the official development assistance (ODA) capital and the government’s foreign preferential loans reached nearly 68.575 trillion dong, equalling to 78.8 percent of the year’s plan.

In October 2014, the ministry presided the signing of two ODA agreements with donors from Belgium and Korea with a total value of $51.4 million. Thus, till the end of October 20, 2014, as many as 29 loan agreements were signed, totalling nearly $3.232 billion, equalling to 66.7 percent of the year’s plan, contributing to supporting the long-term capital source for development investment.

The total loans of the government were nearly 364.519 trillion dong, equalling to 78.8 percent of the year’s estimate.

Regarding the debt repayment obligation, the ministry said the government’s total debt repayment obligation in Jan-October was over 189.153 trillion dong, or 90.6 percent of the year’s plan and it’s guaranteed seven projects with a total value of $2.439 billion.
