The Office of the Ombudsman has created a panel to conduct a fact-finding on the alleged anomaly that led to the entrance of P6.4 billion worth of shabu shipment through the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) green lane.

According to BOC’s statement on its website, the agency mentions that the allegation was based on the testimony of Mark Ruben Taguba, the Customs broker who implicated government officials in the illegal shipment.

The Ombudsman’s action is in accordance with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte of creating a separate body who will investigate the issue.
