The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Wednesday (March 13) dispatched water tankers to assist hospitals that are affected by the ongoing water shortage in Metro Manila due to the diminishing supply at La Mesa Dam.

The PRC said it already distributed a total of 256,000 litres of water to the Risal Medical centre as of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Likewise, the agency also put up portable toilets at the hospital to help maintain sanitation in their premises.

PRC Chair Senator Richard Gordon directed the agency to prioritise hospitals to help address the health facilities’ water problems as water is crucial to their daily operations.
