Philippines trade deficit widens to nine-month high in December
Philippine exports dropped 0.2 percent in December from a year earlier, while imports contracted 9.1%, resulting in the widest monthly trade deficit since March, government data showed on Wednesday.Exports dipped to $5.74 billion, while imports dropped at the slowest pace in 11 months to $7.92 billion, leading to a trade gap of $2.18 billion for the month and a full-year deficit of $21.8 billion.
