Come May 1, travellers can travel directly from Singapore to Busan in South Korea.

SilkAir will operate four weekly flights to Busan starting from 1 May, said the airline in a press release on Monday (18 February).

Currently, no other airlines operate scheduled flights between the Republic and Busan.

The flights to Busan will also be SilkAir’s first to a South Korean destination, the airline said.

Travellers on the flight will fly on the airline’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which feature both business and economy class cabins.

“We are pleased to introduce services to Busan, offering customers in Singapore and around the region yet another vibrant and charming destination to explore in our network,” said SilkAir Chief Executive Foo Chai Woo.

SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, operates about 400 weekly flights to 49 destinations in 16 countries.
