PAGASA advised residents in the said areas to take precautionary measures against possible landslides and flash floods, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates from the weather agency.

Likewise, sea travel remains risky, especially for small sea vessels, over the northern and western seaboards of Luzon due to rough sea conditions.

No tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) has been raised, according to PAGASA.

The weather agency said STS Quiel is expected to develop into a typhoon within 48 hours however, there is a slim chance for the weather system to make landfall in any part of the country.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy and cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the effects of localised thunderstorms throughout the day.
