Ho Ching is the marvel we do not deserve. The wife of Singapore’s prime minister Lee Hsien Loong shares just about anything and everything on her social media feed, including once sharing a Pornhub meme and writing poetry about the bag she carried to a lunch with Japan’s royal couple.

She now continues to support the very bag that made her go from first lady to international trendsetter: a dinosaur clutch made by an autistic student.

The prime minister’s wife was spotted carrying a dinosaur-motif clutch by a student from Pathlight School at the recent G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a post by Facebook page Singapore Matters on Saturday (December 1).

The page praised Ho Ching, saying that wearing the clutch “is a strong statement of support for special needs students.”

Commenters also chimed in with praise for the first lady.

The photo was taken Friday with the wives of other G20 leaders such as United States’ Melania Trump and China’s Peng Liyuan.

The Dino Leather Wristlet Clutch was designed by an autistic student from Pathlight School in Singapore, the country’s first autism-focused school, and is sold on The Art Faculty at S$48 (US$35).

The student, 21-year-old Seetoh Sheng Jie, is part of Pathlight’s Artist Development Programme, which engages professional artists to work with autism students to nurture their interest in the arts.

On Seetoh’s bio, he describes himself as being “extremely pedantic” about dinosaurs, and all his figurines and illustrations are created from his personal knowledge. He has other merchandise on sale as well, ranging from tote bags to card cases.

This is not the first time Ho Ching has sported Seetoh’s designs; she caused pandemonium when she wore his Dino Pouch two years ago on a state visit to the White House, which led to the pouches being sold out online.

The dinosaur motifs were so popular that they were even made into limited-edition ez-link cards.

Let’s hope this one sells out again.
