Singer Psy to refund concert tickets amid prostitution allegations

South Korean pop star Psy, famous for his monster hit song “Gangnam Style”, requested on Thursday (18 July) that all tickets bought to his Psy Water Show be refunded.

This came about after organiser Interpark released a statement that the show had been cancelled: “This was due to the artist’s personal request and we will be refunding all tickets.”

Psy was embroiled in a prostitution scandal, when he was called as a witness on 16 June to ongoing investigation surrounding Yang Hyun Suk, ex-YG Entertainment head. Psy was interrogated for nine hours straight and released the following day.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a South Korean network MBC investigative TV news programme, Straight, broke a story about Yang, who was allegedly arranging prostitution services for foreign investors at a dinner in July 2014.

Psy claims he was not aware that any illegal activities took place during dinner, which was also attended by Malaysian businessperson Jho Low, a fugitive who is wanted by authorities.

After Straight was aired, Psy took to his Instagram to explain that “Jho Lo is indeed my friend.” He added, “Jho Low was quite active in the Hollywood show business sector during the time I knew him.”

He claimed that himself and Yang shortly after dinner and drinks.

Other celebrities involved in the ongoing scandal are Seungri and B.I.
