Young people aged 12 to 17 may receive the Sinovac vaccine starting today (Thursday), but a signed parental consent form is required.

Those who want the jab can make reservations online, collect same-day tickets at a community vaccination centre, or make appointments through private doctors or clinics.

Starting from 9 am on Thursday, the relevant age group can make reservations at community vaccination centers or Ma On Shan Family Medicine Centre and Tin Shui Wai Community Health Centre of the Hospital Authority through the designated website.

Apart from the existing service network, parents can call 2856 9133 for appointment booking at five Student Health Service Centers in Chai Wan, Lam Tin, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun, and Western.

In addition, they can also make appointments to receive the vaccine through private doctors or clinics enrolled in the Vaccination Programme.

A sample consent form for parents can be downloaded from the designated website.

The BioNTech vaccine is suitable for people aged 12 or above. The government reminded that before making an appointment, members of the public should take note of a minimum interval of 14 days between a Covid-19 jab and any others, including the seasonal flu vaccine.
