Soya Garden has officially been granted an investment of VND20 billion (US$875,000) by Shark Thuy, organisers of the reality programme Shark Tank Vietnam announced.

Earlier, on the reality TV show broadcast on VTV3 channel, startup project Soya Garden was chosen for an injection of funds up to VND15 billion by Shark Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, chair of Egroup and general director of Apax English JSC.

After Soya Garden passed Due Diligence, an enterprise appraisal round, Shark Thuy and Egroup decided to raise the investment to VND20 billion.

Anh Tuan, CEO and founder of Soya Garden, made a presentation on their business plan for the year, which aims to help consumers experience new healthy products. Soya Garden makes all its products using soya beans, replacing cow milk with soy milk. It intends to target youth and women.

Soya Garden hopes to have customers flocking to its outlets as they do to coffee shops by 2020. Besides operating in the food and beverages sector, the firm plans to expand its business to include fast moving consumer goods as soya beans can be used to make many more soy-based products, such as milk, cake and bottled items.

Following its success on the show Shark Tank 2018, Soya Garden has become a strategic partner with Bean Group in Vietnam, a Singapore-based company founded in 1995, running a business of world-leading soy-based products. The Singaporean firm is in possession of over 65 retail outlets in Singapore, Japan and the Philippines. billion-from-reality-show.html
