Taiwan reports 14 new imported COVID-19 cases in 1 day

Taiwan confirmed 14 new imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday, the highest number reported in one day since April.

With the 14 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 639 since the pandemic began late last year, according to the Central Epidemic Command centre (CECC) said.

The CECC is scheduled to hold a press conference later in the day to provide more information about the new cases.

Taiwan has not recorded a domestic infection since April 12, according to CECC data.
