Thai cenbank says virus outbreak may cut GDP by 0.8pct-2.0pct this year

Thailand’s central bank said on Thursday a coronavirus outbreak may reduce gross domestic product by 0.8-2.0 percent this year, as authorities struggle with the country’s biggest spread of the virus to date.

However, the economy still had support from government measures, and exports could still perform better than expected, Senior director Chayawadee Chai-Anant told a briefing.
