After making survey trips to seaports, especially the Nam Can and Song Doc economic zones in Ca Mau Province, the Tuan Chau Group is planning to build an airport and a sea encroachment area in this Mekong Delta province, said Dao Hong Tuyen, board chair of the Vietnamese business group.

Speaking at a working session with the provincial government on April 13, along with Nam Mien Trung Group and Ho Guom Group, Tuyen suggested developing a 500-hectare seafood city by encroaching on the sea in the years to come.

The Tuan Chau Group will work on the projects if investment procedures are hassle free, the chair added, reported Motthegioi news site.

Le Quan, chair of the provincial government, said that local authorities will create optimal conditions for investors and ensure feasibility during the implementation of projects in the province. He added that the province will strictly follow the prevailing regulations on zoning.

The province prioritises investments in the agriculture and hi-tech fishery sectors with eight projects covering nearly 4,000 hectares of land in the Nam Can, Ngoc Hien, Tran Van Thoi and Dam Doi districts. It also wants to call on investors for 17 urban and housing projects with a total of over 400 hectares in Ca Mau City, the districts of Nam Can, U Minh, Cai Nuoc and Thoi Binh in addition to seaport and economic zone projects in the districts of Nam Can and Tran Van Thoi.
