Japanese global apparel retailer Uniqlo on November 5 announced that it will open its first store in HCM City on December 6, one year after announcing its entry into Vietnam.

The first store, under the name Uniqlo Dong Khoi, will be located at 35-45 Le Thanh Ton Street, a high-end shopping street in HCM City’s District 1, which gathers a number of international fashion brands such as Zara and H&M.

Osamu Ikezoe, general director of Uniqlo Vietnam, said in a press release that Uniqlo Dong Khoi will be one of the retailer’s largest stores in Southeast Asia and is expected to become an attractive shopping destination in the city.

“The store will serve both local residents and international tourists and feature all LifeWear product lines that meet the needs of one’s daily lifestyle, promising a unique shopping experience,” he stated.

Vietnam is the brand’s 24th business market outside Japan. The planned launch of the first store will contribute to the expansion plan of Uniqlo, which owns over 2,200 facilities worldwide.

On the occasion of the launch, Uniqlo Vietnam will launch the campaign “Step up the standard each day” to highlight the dynamic lifestyle in HCM City through various influencers.
