Located in Doan Ket Commune in Quang Ninh’s Van Don District, Van Don Airport was built following 4E standards, having a 3.6-kilometer-long and 45-metre-wide runway which can handle big aircraft such as Boeing 777, 787 and Airbus A350, A320 as well as similar planes.

The airport has an apron providing parking space for six aircraft, serving between two and 2.5 million passengers and handling some 10,000 tonnes of cargo per year.

The Van Don Airport project, developed by Sun Group, cost a total of nearly VND7.5 trillion. It is the first airport constructed under the build-operate-transfer format.
