Vietcombank and Techcombank among 5 listed companies with after-tax of over VND10 trillion

Based on the data published in financial statements of businesses in 2019, among listed companies, five units recorded after-tax profit of more than 10 trillion dong.

Vinhomes (HoSE: VHM) takes the lead with more than 24.2 trillion dong of after-tax profit in 2019. Vinhomes’s after-tax profit is almost two times higher than the following companies.

Banking group accounts for the highest proportion with two banks recording after-tax of more than 10 trillion dong, including Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (HoSE: VCB) and Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank, HoSE: TCB).

Year 2019 is also a successful year for VCB shares when the stock continuously set new price zone.

The highest price that VCB reached is 94,500 dong per share on January 17th. After that, along with general market movements, the stock price has corrected to the current price level.

It can be said that among businesses with after-tax of above 10 trillion dong, the stock price of Techcombank is the lowest. From the listing in 2018, TCB shares have not yet returned to the price range of around 36,000 dong per share.

In the group of oil and gas, GAS of PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) was the one to achieve more than 10 trillion dong of after-tax profit. In 2019, PV GAS attained more than 12.1 trillion dong of after tax profit, ranking the third in the top five businesses with profits of over 10 trillion dong.

For GAS stock, from the trading session on November 18th when the stock was traded around 108,000 dong per share, the stock price has recorded many corrections to the current price range. In the past, GAS stock was traded around 125,000 dong per share in 2018.

If TCB is considered to be the “cheapest” compared to the stock prices of businesses with profits of over 10 trillion dong, VNM stock of Vietnam Dairy Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) is the most expensive compared to the remaining businesses.

In 2019, Vinamilk reported more than 105 trillion dong of after-tax profit, slightly up by 3.4 percent compared to 2018. In the market, VNM shares are traded around 113,600 dong per share.
