Vietjet announces new routes to Seoul

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Asean South Korea relations at the Mekong South Korea summit, the local carrier Vietjet announced plans to offer flights from more Vietnamese cities to Seoul.

Vietjet leaders said the new routes would connect Seoul and Da Lat, Can Tho, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc, during the Vietnam South Korea Business Forum on November 28 in South Korea. The event, graced by prime minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and deputy prime minister of Korea Hong Nam-Ki, was attended by senior officials of the Vietnamese and South Korean governments.

According to the announcement, the Seoul Can Tho route will operate three round trip flights per week, and the Seoul Da Lat route will fly four round trip flights per week, to begin in January 2020 with flying times of five hours per leg.

Also, two other routes, including Seoul Nha Trang and Seoul Phu Quoc, will increase the number of scheduled flights each week.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietjet vice chair Nguyen Thanh Hung thanked the governments of Vietnam and South Korea for creating favourable conditions, developing a positive business environment and encouraging business investment.

Vietjet now offers 11 routes to South Korea, with 480 flights per month, operating the most flights connecting Vietnam and South Korea.
