Vietnam’s southern stock market ends down

VN Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 604.01 points on Wednesday, down 0.22 points, or 0.04 percent, against the previous trading day’s closing session.

About 126.581 million shares worth 2.053 trillion dong (VND) (96.66 million US dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 130 stocks went up, 74 stocks fell down, while 101 stocks remained unchanged.

VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalisation and liquidity, closed at 641.89 points, down 0.13 points, or 0.02 percent.

A total of 46.385 million shares worth 762.03 million VND (35. 86 million dollars) were traded on Wednesday.
