VN Index down to 650 points

All indexes on Vietnam’s stock market closed lower on December 6.

On HSX the VN Index decreased by 8.72 points (1.32 per cent) and the VN30-Index decreased by 9.06 points (1.45 per cent). On HNX the HNX-Index decreased by 1.13 points (1.41 per cent) and the HNX30-Index decreased by 2.38 points (1.65 per cent).

The VNALL-Index reduced by 11.89 points (1.25 per cent) and the UPCoM Index lost 1.01 points (1.74 per cent). The VNMID-Index decreased by 9.13points (1.13 per cent) and VNSML fell 10.97 points (1.39 per cent).

HSX saw 65 shares increase and 186 decrease while HNX saw 53 increase and 122 decrease.

Liquidity on HNX was VND358.94 billion ($15.79 million), 29.38 per cent lower than yesterday, while liquidity on HSX was VND2.19 trillion ($96.36 million), down 29.35 per cent.

The VN Index opened at 660.21 points and slightly increased to 660.4 before lowering down to 654 in the middle of morning session. After that, it recovered to 655.1 and closed at 654.9. During the afternoon session, the VN Index continued decreasing significantly up until 649.1 before recovering to close at 651.49 by the end of the day’s trade.

SAB for the first of day trading on HSX has become the fifth largest cap with VND84.6 billion ($3.2 million) market capitalisation with price increased by 20 per cent to reach VND132,000 ($5.81) per share. However, SAB’s performance today did not influence any VN Index benchmarks.

The largest cap VNM today decreased by 0.7 per cent with a trading value of around VND124 billion ($5.45 million). ROS remains the highest trading value on HSX with some VND358 billion ($15.75 million) changing hands and its price down 6.5 per cent. Two steel stocks also saw high trading as HPG with a trading value of VND206 billion ($9.06 million), its price down 3.5 per cent. HSG’s trading value was VND157 billion ($6.9 million) and its price went down by 6.8 per cent.

In banking, MBB and STB increased by 0.76 per cent and 0.13 per cent respectively. Other large caps in banking decreased: BID by 3 per cent, CTG and VCB by 2.2 per cent, and EIB by 1.1 per cent.

In energy, large cap, GAS was the only one increased by 0.6 per cent, while others went down. PGD moved down 2.2 per cent and CNG by 1.2 per cent.

Among the large caps the on HSX, MSN and BVH increased by 0.2 per cent, while MWG and FPT decreased by 1.9 per cent and 0.7 per cent respectively.

Among the large caps on the HNX, most of them decreased: ACB down by 2.3 per cent, VCS 2.2 per cent, SHB 2 per cent, VCG 1.3 per cent, NTP 0.8 per cent, PVS 0.6 per cent and 0.4 per cent. VNR was the only one that increased with 2.4 per cent.

Foreign investors net sold on HSX by VND160 billion ($7.04 million) and on the HNX by VND836.54 million ($36,807).
