VNM and SAB support VN Index increased

Despite VNM experienced strong net sold from foreign investor, this stock was still being strong pillar to made VN Index increased

Only the HNX-Index decreased while the other main indexes on Vietnam’s stock market closed higher on December 8.

On the HSX the VN Index increased by 5.36 points (0.82 per cent) and the VN30-Index increased by 4.45 points (0.72 per cent). On the HNX, the HNX-Index decreased by 0.04 points (0.05 per cent) while the HNX30-Index increased by 0.59 points (0.42 per cent).

The VNAll-Index closed at 5.02 points (0.53 per cent) and the UPCoM Index went down 0.35 points (0.61 per cent). The VNMid Index increased by 2.17 points (0.27 per cent) while VNSml fell 0.37points (0.05 per cent).

HSX saw 140 shares increase and 111 decrease while the HNX saw 137 increase and 93 decrease.

Liquidity on HNX was VND293 billion ($12.94 million), 19 per cent lower than yesterday, and on the HSX liquidity was VND1.7 trillion ($75.08 million), down 10 per cent.

The VN Index opened at 651.49 then increased sharply to 659.5 points after pre-open session. It continued to increase and peaked at 660.7 points after about 20 minutes of trading before falling back down to 656.8 points at the end of the morning session. The afternoon session saw this index fluctuate till late at 657.3 points then increase to close at 658.89 points.

VNM experienced high net sales from foreign investors as they sold net of VND165 billion ($7.28 million) on this stock. Meanwhile VNM increased 2 per cent with the highest trading value on HSX of around VND376 billion ($16.6 million). ROS came in second place in terms of trading value with some VND248 billion ($10.95 million) changing hands and its price down 4.9 per cent,

SAB increased the ceiling for the third day in a row with its price increasing 6.9 per cent. Other shares in the food & beverage sector saw KDC close at its opening price, while VHC and SBT decreased 0.9 per cent and 0.8 per cent respectively.

In banking, STB increased its ceiling of 6.9 per cent, and VCB went up 1.7 per cent. EIB went up 1 per cent and BID went up 0.3 per cent. MBB closed at its opening price, while CTG went down 0.6 per cent.

Among energy stocks, PGD and GAS went down 0.9 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively and CNG closed at its opening price.

Other large caps on HSX saw VIC close at its opening price while MSN and MWG increased 0.5 per cent and HPG went up 0.1 per cent.

Among large caps on HNX, ACB closed at its opening price. PVS, VCG, PHP and VCS decreased 2.3 per cent, 1.3 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.8 per cent respectively. On the positive side, DBC moved up 4.2 per cent, SHB 2 per cent and NTP 0.9 per cent.

Foreign investors net sold VND192 billion ($ 8.48million) on the HSX and net bought VND6 billion ($265,020) on the HNX
