Winners of HCM City Brand Award announced
The HCM City Department of Industry and Trade and The Saigon Times Group co-organised the first HCM City Brand Award ceremony at the GEM centre in District 1 on January 21 to honor 30 enterprises in the city for their efforts and success in building brands.
Since the launch of the HCM City Brand Award on December 1 last year, as many as 64 firms have put their names down for recognition for the awards. The selection board comprised nine experts in brand building and representatives of the HCM City Department of Industry and Trade, The Saigon Times Group and the HCM City Business Association.
The winners were selected based on their transparency and compliance with the law, efficiency in brand building, corporate social responsibility, human resource policies, research and development strategies, innovation, creativity, the reputation and popularity of their brands and the quality and safety of products.
The 30 winners are leading enterprises in their industry. Their total revenues in 2019 amounted to some VND252.8 trillion, equivalent to 21.8 percent of the city’s total retail and consumption service revenues.
According to Bui Ta Hoang Vu, director of the HCM City Department of Industry and Trade, the 30 winners are outstanding brands of the city, representing the core values of the awards prestige, quality, impressiveness and being ahead of time.
Addressing the award ceremony, Tran Minh Hung, Editor-in-chief of The Saigon Times Group, said, “An outstanding feature of the winners is that they focus not only on their business performance but also corporate social responsibility through their contributions to the economy and the society, creating more jobs for locals, taking care of the livelihood and development of the workers, protecting the environment, with sustainable development strategies and good customer services.”
“Another common quality of the winners is activeness and innovation, which can be seen through their policies for research and development, the quality and uniqueness of their products and services and their resilience to crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
The HCM City Brand Award is an annual programme aimed at raising the awareness of enterprises operating in HCM City over the importance of building brands and encouraging them to accelerate innovation, creativity and sustainable development and contribute to the development of the city, which is the country’s economic hub.
